TURNER MOTORSPORT FINISH SECOND IN GTD AND GS CHAMPIONSHIPS

BRASELTON, G.A. (October 3, 2026) – Turner Motorsport ends the 2026 IMSA season second in both the GTD and GS championships following the season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The No. 96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO retired early from Petit Le Mans, while the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Dillon Machavern and Luca Mars finished in fourth place while the No. 96 of Foley and Vin Barletta finished 10th in the FOX Factory 120.

In the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale, Foley started Petit Le Mans fifth in the 18-car GTD field on wet tires as rain lingered in the area. Within the first 15 minutes of the 10-hour endurance race, the No. 96 switched to slick tires, and Francis Selldorff took over driving duties. Unfortunately, after just 18 laps, the Turner BMW went behind the wall for low water pressure, which caused the engine to overheat ultimately forcing the team to retire the car.

Despite the heartbreaking end to the day, Foley and Patrick Gallager finish the season in second in the GTD championship. Their season included a race win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, second-place finishes at Long Beach and VIRginia International Raceway, and third place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO started the Michelin Pilot Challenge race from eighth in the 31-car GS field. Machavern survived early contact on and gained a position before handing the car over to Mars.  The Turner crew executed flawlessly in pit lane, and Mars managed to save fuel throughout his stint to complete the race with just two pit stops and finish fourth.

The No. 95 team finished just behind the championship leader, securing second in the GS championship. Their season included a race win at WeatherTech Racway Laguna Seca, second place at Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course, and third-place finishes at Sebring International Raceway and VIRginia International Raceway.

Meanwhile in the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 EVO, Barletta started from 28th. The team gained a position in the pits as Barletta handed the car off to Foley, who picked up a several more positions before pitting for tires and fuel. The team followed a three-stop strategy allowing the Turner BMW to cycle up to 15th, and Foley made the final passes to bring the car home and tally the No. 96’s fourth top 10 finish of the season.

Dillon Machavern, Driver of the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO

“There were definitely a lot of ups and downs this season. We battled quite a bit of adversity starting at Watkins Glen with some unforeseen circumstances there and then again in Canada and Indianapolis. So there were a lot of things out of our control, otherwise our average finish was really high.

“All in all, I think we can feel really good about the season. It was great driving with Luca. Turner Motorsport always executed and they’re always awesome to work with; that’s why we keep coming back. So it’s a little bittersweet obviously, second’s not where you want to finish, but it just makes you hungrier next year.”

Luca Mars, Driver of the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO

“At the end of the day, we’re happy with P2, but looking on what could have been with some of the stuff that was out of our control that held us back. It’s unfortunate, but that’s racing.

“I’m super proud of the whole team. They showed up every race and gave it their all. They gave me a great car every time, so I’m super grateful for that. I had a blast racing with these guys. I wish some more things went our way, but that’s what next year is for.”

Robby Foley, Driver of the No. 96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO

“It’s been a great season. To be in a position to fight for the championship with a lot of great competitors in the 57, 27 and the 12, we’ve race all of them super hard all year, and we’ve all shown our stuff at different points. I’m proud of everyone on the team – Patrick for the full season and Francis joining us for the endurance races – everyone gave it their all, and that’s all you can do. It’s a bad ending, but we’ll come back stronger.”

Will Turner, Team Owner

“I’m super disappointed not to be able to bring the fight to the 57 car. I want to thank the team, sponsors, and drivers for an amazing year. We look forward to coming back next year and giving it another try.”
