ELKHART LAKE, W.I. (August 3, 2025) – Turner Motorsport returned to Road America and earned a fourth-place finish in GTD, along with a top-five finish in GS.
Patrick Gallagher started the No. 96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from 10th and gained two positions despite very limited time under green. Strategic calls for the final two pit stops allowed Robby Foley to leapfrog several cars and position himself for a strong run to the checkered flag. Foley kept his BMW out of trouble, narrowly avoiding multiple incidents and charged into fourth on the final lap.
“I’m happy with a fourth-place finish, and even happier that we stayed out of al the carnage,” said team owner Will Turner. “A lot of people were using the ‘crash-into-you’ method to pass, but we stayed out of trouble, stayed clean, and it paid off.
“It was a valuable points day – especially because some of the competition fared worse. Congratulations to BMW Motorsport on their wins in GTP and GTD Pro today!”
“We exceeded our expectations today here at Road America,” said Foley. “Honestly, this result feels almost as good as last year. We had a good race and stayed out of trouble. We executed well as a team, and maximized our situation, and we’ll head to VIR with a good bag of points.”
In Michelin Pilot Challenge, the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 EVO climbed nine positions in a caution-filled Road America 120. Matt Dalton started the Belle Haven Investments-liveried BMW from 14th and quickly moved up a spot before a strategic early stop for tires and fuel. He kept his car in one piece and passed finishing duties off to Gallagher. In a battle on pit lane, the Turner crew executed flawlessly to give Gallagher a fighting chance in the final 23 minutes of green-flag racing. The team secured a fifth-place finish. Unfortunately, the No. 95 of Francis Selldorff and Dillon Machavern wasn’t as lucky – contact forced their M4 back to the paddock into early retirement midway through the two-hour race.
“Matt did a great job moving up a couple spots,” said Gallagher. “We had a good strategy call and got to the front. We were on slightly older tires and ended up with the top five finish, which is my best finish with Matt this season in GS. It was a good, solid race staying out of trouble.”
The IMSA season resumes August 22–24 at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia, with the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge, and VP Racing SportsCar Challenge all in action.
