TURNER MOTORSPORT SWEEPS THE WEEKEND AT VIR

ALTON, V.A. (July 20, 2025) – Turner Motorsport dominated the weekend at VIRginia International Raceway, claiming victories in both GT America and GT World Challenge America. Justin Rothberg drove the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO to his fourth and fifth wins of the GT America season while he and Robby Foley secured their third and fourth wins after eight rounds in GT World Challenge. Turner extends its lead in the championship standings for both series as the team leaves Virginia.

The weekend began with Rothberg on pole for the first GT America race. A six-second lead was erased by a caution, but he aced the restart and held off the field during a six-minute sprint to the checkered flag to take the win.

In GT World Challenge, Rothberg started fourth in class and quickly moved into third. A caution fell and the Turner crew executed flawlessly setting up Foley to battle for the win. Despite pressure from all angles, Foley patiently made each pass to complete the Saturday sweep.

Sunday was nearly a carbon copy of Saturday’s performance as Rothberg started from pole and held on under pressure to win in GT America. In GT World Challenge, Foley started from the Pro-Am pole, and Rothberg brought it home by defending the lead to the final lap, sealing a perfect weekend for Turner Motorsport.

“It’s been a great GTA season so far, especially sweeping this weekend,” said Rothberg. “It’s our second sweep of the season after we did it in Long Beach. The Turner guys have been giving me an amazing car. We’re having fun, and the other drivers is putting up a good fight.

“We had another great weekend in GT World Challenge, and getting the win for Robby’s birthday made it even better. I’m really happy to turn things around at VIR like after last year. That was tough, so to come back and flip it feels really good.”

“As always, it was a great track for our Turner Motorsport BMWs – four for four this weekend,” said Foley. “Justin had two great drives in GTA, and we had two GT World Challenge wins that came down to the wire. It was an exciting weekend, and good for points. We’re ready to head to Road America!”

The SRO season continues at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, from August 15-17.
