BOWMANVILLE, Ontario (July 13, 2025) – Turner Motorsport’s Jake Walker claimed his fourth win of the season in VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Meanwhile, Robby Foley and Vin Barletta gained 11 spots to finish fourth in Michelin Pilot Challenge, and Foley, alongside Patrick Gallagher, secured a top-10 finish in the WeatherTech SportsCar Challenge.
Walker arrived in Canada coming off a win and second-place finish at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course. Racing at CTMP for the first time, the 19-year-old only needed one practice session to get up to speed. Starting race one from pole, Walker delivered a dominant performance, building a 14 second lead before a caution packed the field up. The No. 6 BMW M4 GT3 charged through traffic on the restart and crossed the line over seven seconds ahead of second place. Barletta and his No. 95 Turner BMW finished in fifth and secured second in Bronze Cup. Race two was postponed due to inclement weather, but IMSA will consider rescheduling to an upcoming VPRC event weekend.
“Since it was my first time at Mosport, I made some slight adjustments with my driving, along with the car after practice one,” said Walker. “From there we had a great car with strong pace to get the win in race one. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get to the second race in, but hopefully it’ll be postponed to VIR.”
In Michelin Pilot Challenge, Foley fought hard until the final corner to bring the No. 96 BMW M4 GT4 EVO home in fourth. He and Barletta picked up 11 positions during the two-hour race. Dillon Machavern moved from ninth to third in his opening stint, but the No. 95’s day was cut short when Seldoff was punted by two TCR cars battling side-by-side on back straight. Thankfully, Selldorff was ok and returned to the pits to support the sister car before the race concluded.
In WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Gallagher started from sixth and quickly moved up to third. Foley maintained podium position until a pair of cautions disrupted the team’s strategy. The race ended under yellow with the No. 96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in eighth.
“It was an interesting race here at Mosport,” said Foley. “Patrick got a great start, and we spent a good part of the race around podium position, but a couple yellows put us on the wrong strategy, and unfortunately with the accident at the end, we didn’t go back green. I hope the driver is ok, and we’ll move on to Road America.”
The IMSA season continues at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, from August 1–3 with Michelin Pilot Challenge and WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. VP Racing SportsCar Challenge resumes at VIRginia International Raceway, August 22–24.
