TURNER UPS THE ANTE WITH THIRD BMW M4GT4 AT MID OHIO THIS WEEKEND

NEWTON, N.H. (June 4, 2024) – Turner Motorsport will head to Lexington, Ohio with four BMW M4 GT4s for the IMSA weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The 2023 Michelin Pilot Challenge GS and the VP Racing Series GSX Champions will field a trio of GS entries in the Michelin Pilot Challenge race and a pair of GSX M4s in the VP Racing Series races.

The weekend will be highlighted by the Four Hours of Mid-Ohio Michelin Pilot Challenge race. The full-season No. 95 of Robert Megennis and Dillon Machavern and the No. 96 of Robby Foley and Francis Selldorff will be joined by the No. 97 of Matt Dalton, Vin Barletta and Patrick Gallagher. Dalton and Barletta will also race in the VP Racing Series in the No. 96 and No. 97, respectively. The No. 97 car will be racing double duty racing in both the Michelin Pilot Challenge and VP Racing Series.

Dalton previously raced the No. 96 GSX at Daytona during the ROAR Before the 24 this past January. Barletta previously raced full-time in the Turner No. 96 GS and GSX entries in 2023, winning the GS Championship with co-driver Robby Foley. Gallagher will move from his usual M4 GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, which is not racing at Mid-Ohio, to the GT4 car. While he hasn’t driven this track in the GT3 before, Mid-Ohio is far from unchartered waters for the Ohio native who grew up going to the track to watch his father race and has raced in GT4 there himself.

“I’m looking forward to racing at Mid-Ohio. I’ve only ever been there in a GT4 car, so it shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment [from driving the GT3 car],” said Gallagher. “It’s a home race for me. I grew up about an hour south of the racetrack and went there as a kid to watch my dad race. I’m super excited to be sharing the car with Vin and Matt, especially for such a cool event at home.”

Practice begins at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Friday, June 7. The VP Racing Challenge will race on Saturday, June 8 at 1:15 PM ET and Sunday, June 9 at 8:15 AM ET. The Four Hours of Mid-Ohio takes the green flag on Sunday, June 9 at 12:25 PM ET. The race will be streamed live on Peacock in the U.S. and on IMSA.tv internationally.
