ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (August 2, 2026) – Turner Motorsport secured a strong top five finish at Road America in the new six-hour endurance race at America’s National Park of Speed.
Patrick Gallagher started the SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix from fifth in the 19-car GTD field and gained one position in the opening stint. Francis Selldorff took over the No. 96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO and maintained energy levels well. The Turner crew executed flawlessly in pit lane and Robby Foley took over from 15th with just over two hours remaining.
A quick pit stop during the next round of service vaulted Foley into second, but contact from behind cost the team two positions. The final stint was interrupted by multiple cautions, limiting Foley’s ability to recover and ultimately finish in fifth place. The strong result closes the gap in the GTD championship standings with three races remaining.
In Michelin Pilot Challenge, Dillon Machavern started the No. 95 BMW M4 GT4 EVO from seventh in class while Vin Barletta started the No. 96 from 23rd on wet-weather tires. Machavern withstood high pressure and hard racing from the competition while charging his way into third. During the first caution, both Turner BMWs pitted for tires, fuel, and driver changes.
In the battle on pit lane, Foley gained a several positions to restart from 17th, while Luca Mars took over in third. A mishap during the No. 95’s final pit stop dropped Mars down the order, but he fought back into the top 10 and ultimately finished seventh. More importantly, he finished ahead of the championship leaders, moving the No. 95 BMW into second in the championship standings.
Foley battled his way into 10th until a spinning car left him with nowhere to go. The resulting contact damaged the left-front corner and radiator of the No. 96, ending the team’s day with a 23rd-place finish.
The IMSA season continues August 21-23 at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.

“It was a pretty chaotic race out there. The guys gave me a great car; it was super fast. Everything was good, but I made a mistake in pit lane that kind of hurt our chances at a win and set us back, but we were able to recover into seventh. There were a lot of cautions and bumping and banging going on, so I’m glad we were able to survive out there. Huge thank you to the team for giving me a fast car and doing well in the pit stops.

“We wound up P5 here at Road America, which is a really solid points day for us. The top few cars in the championship are now within tiny, tiny, tiny margins, so that’s awesome.
“Ultimately, we probably wanted a little bit more than fifth, but it’s hard to say, that might have been the car we had. There was a lot of craziness out there. I restarted in P2 and immediately got hit, basically right at the green, and shuffled back a couple spots and just stayed there for the rest of the race.
We avoided a lot of the crazy driving, and we’ll take the pretty good points to VIR in a couple of weeks.”
