JAKE WALKER SWEEPS THE WEEKEND AT COTA

AUSTIN, Texas (March 1, 2025) –  Jake Walker swept the weekend at Circuit of the Americas with two wins in Saturday’s double header in his No. 6 BMW M4 GT3. Vin Barletta his third Bronze Cup podium of the season.

Walker started the weekend at the top of the leaderboard for both practice sessions and followed suit earning pole in qualifying.  The 19-year-old led all but six of the 29 total laps in race one, during which he and the 120 car put on a show for the fans with an epic battle cut short when the 120 spun on its own. The Turner BMW pulled away from the field and built over an 18-second gap while maintaining good pace and passing traffic. Walker’s fastest lap also earned him pole position for race two. Vin Barletta started ninth in class. His No. 95 BMW M4 GT3 traded spots a few times throughout the 45-minute sprint race and ended in eighth.

Saturday evening’s race two started with Walker on pole and Barletta in ninth. Walker stayed out of trouble out in front navigating lapped traffic to sweep the weekend with another first place finish. Barletta steadily climbed into seventh in class while earning third in the Bronze Cup.

“It ‘s definitely  great redemption [from Daytona]. Thanks to Turner Motorsport and BMW for putting the car together and giving us another fast car,” said Walker. “The car was on the rails this weekend. We made a few adjustments in practice and from there on out, it was perfect, so I couldn’t ask for more.”

The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge returns June 6-8 at Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course. Turner Motorsport returns to action at Sebring International Raceway March 12-15 for the Twelve Hours of Sebring and Alan Jay 120.
